Connect a Windows PC (with SRS) to the robot controller. Find the Cat5e STP Ethernet cable that is connected to a LAN port on the Forge IPC and port J204 or J205 on the robot controller. Unplug the end that is connected to the Forge IPC. Plug it into a Windows PC with Stäubli Robotics Suite (SRS) installed.
On your Windows PC, open the Run box. To open Run, press Windows key + R on the keyboard or right-click the Start Menu button and select Run. In the next steps, you will configure the IP settings to connect with the Stäubli controller.
In the Run pop-up, type "ncpa.cpl" (Network Connections panel). Then click OK.
In the Network Connections window, double-click the Ethernet connection you are using on the computer. For PCs with one Ethernet port, it's the Ethernet option.
Find and double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/ IPv4).
Select Use the following IP address.
- If you are using the READY-made Forge/Ctrl, set the IP address to 172.16.255.200 and set the Subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.
- If you are using the READY-made Forge/Hub or another IPC, set the IP address to 192.168.1.30 and set the Subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.
Open Stäubli Robotic Suite (SRS).
Insert the USB flash drive into the Windows PC.
Open the new Forge/OS configuration files.
When the SRS environment launches, select the Home tab.
Select your controller in the Target area.
Select files on the left side.
Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the Windows PC.
After 3 more minutes or so, press RESET to clear any remaining errors (such as the “Operational mode switched” and “Safety reset needed” errors).
Congrats! You're up to date. Time to automate!
