Fanuc: Dealing with the "SYST-322: Auto Status Check Time Out" error

FANUC collaborative robots require a brief pause every 90 seconds to check force sensor readings.

If the robot continually moves for longer than 90 seconds at a time, the FANUC Pendant pauses the program and displays "SYST-322:  Auto status check time out."

Although this issue is inherent to FANUC, try these tips to work around it:

  • Replace long Continuous Moves with individual Absolute, Relative, and Circular Move blocks.
  • Add Wait blocks.
  • Run your task at a faster speed (if it is safe to do so).
